The privacy of your data — and it is your data, not ours — matters to us. In this policy we explain what we collect, why we collect it, how we handle it, and the rights you have.

When we say "Company", "we", "our", or "us", we mean Transcend Mechanics, Inc. (doing business as FastGripper), the seller of FastGripper products.

When we say "Shop" or "Services", we mean our website — served at both www.fastgripper.com and www.transcendmechanics.com — our online store, and any related ordering, support, or communications tools we provide. Our separate SaaS application at app.fastgripper.com is covered by its own privacy policy.

When we say "you" or "your", we mean the individuals who visit our Shop, place an order, sign up for our email list, or otherwise interact with us.

Scope of this policy

Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need to sell and ship you a gripper, support you after the sale, and run the business responsibly. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes how we collect, process, retain, and disclose personal data about you when providing goods and Services to you through our Shop and our practices for using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This policy applies only to information we collect:

Through the Services.
In communications, including email, text, chat, and other electronic messages, between you and the Services.
When you interact with our advertising and applications (including mobile apps) on third-party websites and services, if those applications or advertising include links to this policy.

It does not apply to information collected by:

Us through any other means, including on any other website operated by us or any third party that does not link to this policy, including our separate SaaS application at app.fastgripper.com which is covered by its own privacy policy; or
Any third party, including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or through the Services.

We may provide additional or different privacy policies that are specific to certain features, services, or activities.

Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we treat it. By interacting with our Services or providing us with your information, you agree to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this privacy policy. This policy may change from time to time (see Changes and questions). Your continued use of the Services after we make changes as described here is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

What we collect and why

"Personal data" is information that identifies, relates to, or describes, directly or indirectly, you as an individual, such as your name, email address, telephone number, home address, or payment information or any other identifier we may use to contact you online or offline.

The types and categories of personal data we collect or process include:

Order information

When you place an order, we collect:

Your name
Shipping address
Billing address
Email address
Phone number (when the shipping carrier requires it)
Account history, including information about the items you ordered, quantities, and total
Order date and order number

We use this to fulfill your order, process your payment, ship your gripper, send you shipping and order-status updates, and handle any returns or warranty claims.

Payment information

When you check out, you provide payment details directly to Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe receives and stores your full card details; we do not. What we receive and store is:

The last four digits of your card and card brand (for receipts and refund processing)
A Stripe customer ID and payment intent ID
Billing address
Invoice and transaction history

We use this for billing, refunds, fraud detection, and tax/accounting compliance.

Email signups

If you sign up for our email list (waitlist, restock alerts, or marketing), we collect your email address and, optionally, your name. We use this only to send you the communications you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Customer support correspondence

When you email us — for shipping questions, warranty claims, returns, or anything else — we retain that correspondence so we have a history to reference if you contact us again.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit the Shop, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information about your visit using cookies, pixels, web beacons, software development kits, and similar technologies ("Cookies"). This may include:

Device information (device type, operating system, browser)
Network information (IP address, general geolocation derived from IP)
Usage information (pages viewed, products browsed, items added to cart, time on page, HTTP referrer)
Advertising identifiers and conversion events (see Cookies, analytics, and advertising below)

We also collect:

Statistics or aggregated information. Statistical or aggregated data does not directly identify a specific person, but we may derive non-personal statistical or aggregated data from personal data. For example, we may aggregate personal data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific Services feature.
Technical information. Technical information includes information about your internet connection and usage details about your interactions with the Services, such as clickstream information to, through, and from our Services (including date and time), products that you view or search for; page response times, download errors, length of your visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), or methods used to browse away from a page.

If we combine or connect non-personal statistical or technical data with personal data so that it directly or indirectly identifies an individual, we treat the combined information as personal information.

Information we obtain from third parties

When you visit the Shop, there are third parties, like our service providers, that may use automatic collection technologies to collect information about you or your device. We may receive information about you from:

Payment processors — confirmation of payment, fraud signals.
Shipping carriers — delivery status, address corrections.
Google as an advertising platform — conversion events tied back to ad clicks, audience-membership signals that we use to measure ad performance.
Companies that help us prevent fraud or abuse — risk scores.

These third parties may use tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use the Services. The information they collect may be associated with your personal data or they may collect information, including personal data, about your online activities over time and across different websites, apps, platforms, and other online services.

While any information we obtain from third parties is treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy, we do not control these third parties' tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly.

How we use your information

To fulfill your order — process payment, ship your gripper, send order/shipping notifications, handle returns and warranty claims.
To provide customer support — respond to your inquiries and improve our service.
For security and fraud prevention — detect and investigate suspicious activity, prevent fraudulent orders.
To send marketing communications (with your consent) — restock alerts, product news, occasional promotions. You can opt out at any time.
For analytics and advertising — understand how customers find and use the Shop, measure the performance of our advertising, and show you relevant ads on other sites (see Cookies, analytics, and advertising).
To comply with legal obligations — tax, accounting, consumer-protection, and other applicable laws.
To enforce our terms and protect our rights — including investigating violations of our Terms of Sale.
In any other way we may describe when you provide the information.
For any other purpose with your consent.

The usage information we collect, whether connected to your personal data or not, helps us improve our products and services and deliver a better and more personalized experience by enabling us to:

Estimate our customer base and purchasing patterns.
Store information about your preferences, allowing us to customize the Shop according to your individual needs and interests.
Speed up your searches.
Recognize you when you return to our Shop.

Who we disclose your information to

We use the following third-party providers to run the Shop. Your data is shared with them only as necessary for them to provide their services.

We will update this table when our sub-processors change.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Like most ecommerce sites, we use Cookies to operate the Shop, measure how customers find and use it, and run advertising on other sites.

Categories of Cookies we use

Strictly necessary — required for the Shop to function. Includes cart state, checkout sessions, CSRF protection, and fraud detection at checkout. These cannot be disabled.
Analytics — we use Vercel Analytics, a cookieless first-party analytics tool. Vercel Analytics does not set tracking cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information.
Advertising and remarketing — we use Google Ads to measure the performance of our advertising and to show ads to people who have visited the Shop. This sets third-party cookies and may share information (including hashed email, IP address, browsing activity, and conversion events) with Google.

All cookies set by the Shop and our advertising partners are scoped to the exact domain you are visiting (fastgripper.com or transcendmechanics.com; host-only) and are not transmitted to other Transcend Mechanics services such as our SaaS application at app.fastgripper.com. Because cookies are host-only, your cookie choices (consent, opt-out) are recorded separately on each domain — if you use the Shop on both domains, set your preference on each.

Your choices

Cookie banner — when you first visit the Shop from the EU, UK, or EEA, we present a cookie banner that lets you accept, reject, or customize non-essential Cookies.
Browser controls — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary Cookies will prevent the Shop from working correctly.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) — if you visit the Shop with the GPC signal enabled, we treat it as an opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your information for the device and browser you used.
Advertising opt-outs — you can opt out of personalized ads at Google Ad Settings and through the Digital Advertising Alliance.

When we disclose your information

We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.

We disclose your personal data that we collect or you provide as described in this policy only in the limited circumstances below:

To our subsidiaries or affiliates.
To contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our organization — solely to provide the services we use them for.
To Google as an advertising partner — see Cookies, analytics, and advertising and Sale and sharing of personal data.
To shipping carriers — your name, shipping address, and phone number (where required) to deliver your order.
With your direction or consent — for example, when you ask us to forward information to a third party.
For legal process — to comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any governmental or regulatory request or in response to an emergency involving risk of imminent harm.
In a business transfer — if Transcend Mechanics, Inc. is acquired, merged, or sells substantially all of its assets, your information may be transferred to the buyer or successor as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.
With your consent.

We may also disclose your personal data:

To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.
To enforce or apply our Terms of Use and Terms of Sale and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes.
If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of our organization, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

We do not sell your personal data for money. We do "share" personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising as described in the next section.

In the preceding 12 months, we have not sold personal data for monetary consideration.

We have shared personal data for the purpose of cross-context behavioral advertising (as that term is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act), as follows:

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal data for the purposes of inferring characteristics about you.

To opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal data, visit our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Data" link in the Shop footer, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser.

Your rights and choices

We apply the rights below to all customers, regardless of where you are located. Specific jurisdictions add additional rights described in the subsections that follow.

Right to Know / Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to Delete — request that we delete personal data we hold about you (subject to legal retention obligations such as tax records).
Right to Correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal data.
Right of Portability — request a portable copy of your information.
Right to Opt out of Sale or Sharing or Targeted Advertising — direct us not to "sell" or "share" your personal data as those terms are defined in applicable privacy laws.
Right to Restrict Processing — ask us to stop or restrict certain processing.
Right to Withdraw Consent — where we rely on consent (e.g., marketing emails), you may withdraw it at any time.
Right to Appeal — if we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our denial.
Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not charge you more or provide worse service because you exercised a privacy right.
Right to Manage Communication Preferences — opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any email. We may still send non-promotional emails (e.g., order confirmations, shipping updates).

To exercise any of these rights, email info@transcendmechanics.com. We may need to verify your identity — typically by confirming the email on file or recent order details — before we can act. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we will require written authorization.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, California residents have all the rights listed above. In addition:

We have disclosed the categories of personal data described above to the sub-processors listed in this policy, solely to operate the Shop on our behalf.
We have shared identifiers, internet activity, and commercial information with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising as described in Sale and sharing of personal data.
The categories of personal data we have collected in the past 12 months are: identifiers, commercial information, internet or other network activity, and (for orders) approximate geolocation derived from your shipping address.
We retain personal data for the periods described in Data retention below.

If you are in the EU, UK, or EEA, our legal bases for processing your personal data are:

Contract — processing required to fulfill your order and provide the Services you requested.
Legitimate interest — security, fraud prevention, product improvement, aggregated analytics, and direct marketing to existing customers about similar products (subject to your right to object).
Consent — for marketing emails to non-customers, advertising cookies, and analytics cookies that are not strictly necessary.
Legal obligation — tax, accounting, consumer-protection, and other applicable retention requirements.

You have the right to withdraw consent at any time where consent is the legal basis, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For UK and EEA residents, you may also contact us at info@transcendmechanics.com to exercise your rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, respectively.

How we secure your data

In transit: all traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted with TLS.
At rest: order and customer data is encrypted at rest on Vercel and Stripe's infrastructure.
Payments: processed by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. We never see or store your full card number.
Access control: least-privilege access to production systems, with audit logging.
Dependencies: automated security patching for our application dependencies.

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account or order has been compromised, contact info@transcendmechanics.com immediately.

Data retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes we collected it.

If you ask us to delete your personal data, we will do so within 30 days, except where law requires us to retain it (e.g., the 7-year billing records above). In such cases we will retain only the minimum required and continue to apply this policy to it.

Children

The Shop is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact info@transcendmechanics.com and we will delete it.

As of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we "sell" or "share" personal data of individuals under 16 years of age.

Location of data and international transfers

Transcend Mechanics, Inc. is a United States company. Our hosting (Vercel) and most of our sub-processors are based in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your personal data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Where we transfer personal data from the EU, UK, or EEA to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, and on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, as applicable, to ensure an equivalent level of protection.

Changes and questions

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised Privacy Policy on the Shop, update the "Last updated" date, and take any other steps required by applicable law. For material changes, we will notify the email addresses on our marketing list and any active order in flight at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
